Bulk Carrier Ship USB Flash Drive
Set sail with custom shaped promotional gifts.
A Lake Erie port commission asked Logotech to replicate these ships as Bulk Carrier Ship USB Flash Drives.
We made the port's towboat into a custom 3D flash drive a few years ago. The design was so popular that partner shipping lines asked port managers if their ships could be next. These ships -- also known as lakers -- carry bulk commodities across the Great Lakes for processing.
You might not realize how much cargo goes through the Great Lakes. Between late March and early January, an average of 200 million tons of bulk cargo passes through the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway. Ships bring bulk products -- including grain, ore, aggregate and coal -- to manufacturers in the region or overseas destinations.
The $1.2 trillion Investment in Infrastructure and Jobs Act includes funding for America's Marine Highway Program. This program recognizes the potential for inland waterways to ease congestion and supply chain bottlenecks elsewhere. Cargo containers can be rerouted for delivery via the Great Lakes, taking semi-tractors off interstate highways.
What can a port authority do with custom shaped flash drives? Give them out to captains. Load your jump drives with information on your upgrade and expansion plans. Attract new carriers when they know what your port can offer.
