Dude, You're Getting a Dell: Tablets Feature USB-C Connectors
Back in 2012, Dell Technologies stopped manufacturing smartphones and started making tablets instead. Now, the company is introducing a new line of its business-driven Venue tablets that will feature the lightning fast USB-C.
The Venue 8 Pro and Venue 10 Pro 5000 are powered by the Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core processor and are more affordable than their market competitors, at $199 and $429, respectively.
The Venue 10 Pro has a display resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels and offers either 64 or 128 GBs, while the 8-inch Venue 8 Pro offers two lesser options. The standard resolution is 1,280 x 800. Both devices weigh in at under 1.5 pounds. Both devices feature Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core processors and MicroSD card slots.
The USB Type-C connector is the newest and arguably most exciting and promising thing about these tablets, especially for those using them for business. Dell does not specifically say whether the devices support USB 3.1 as well.
Both devices have a 2-megapixel camera in front, while Venue 8 has a 5-megapixel one in the back - and Venue 10 has an 8-megapixel one.
Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 and Dell Data Protection/Encryption are offered on these devices for security purposes. Client Command Suite will also allow users to operate the device remotely. Both tablets come with the 64-bit version of Windows 8.1 Home/Pro or Windows 10 Home/Pro.
A 9.5-hour battery, decent performance, intriguing software offerings and competitive price and the USB-C feature might be some reasons users will decide to purchase these devices.
