Logotech-4-Good March Announcement

Educating youth about caring for their pets making them family is a big part of what Matt and Jessica Roberts do at Mississippi-based Dixie Adoptables.

We were thrilled to help further that mission via Logotech-4-Good.

Dixie Adoptables chose to use the $500 in product credit to purchase PopSockets imprinted with their logo. The organization operates a town shelter that in reality services three counties. They plan to use the phone accessories as both a fundraiser and a premium to those who donate to the shelter.

Within days of receiving their PopSockets, they had put together a social media-based fundraiser, offering a PopSocket to the top 20 donors. They hope to raise $2,000 to help cover vet bills, food and other expenses for the dogs and cats they help rescue and re-home.

In just three years, they've helped re-home 2,500 animals from their area.

While animals are near and dear to us at Logotech, so are families and children, particularly those who don't get national attention for their orphan diseases.

That is part of the reason we've selected Connecticut's National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD) Rare Action Network as the March Logotech-4-Good recipient.

Nord

NORD is the oldest rare disease advocacy organization in the country. "The funding we receive predominately goes back into our programs and services that benefit the rare community," said Kristen Angell, associate director of advocacy.

It is estimated that 1 in 10 U.S. residents has a rare disease defined as any disease, disorder, illness or condition affecting fewer than 200,000 people nationwide. Those illnesses also often see less funding and research dollars.

"The Rare Action Network® ... serves to connect and empower a unified network of individuals and organizations with tools, training and resources to become effective advocates for rare diseases through national and state based initiatives," Angell said.

Anything we can do and that the NORD can do to leverage promotional products to help gain attention for those patients is why we wanted to help.

"Having these promotional items will significantly benefit our dedicated volunteers and event attendees. It will help us in our goal to bring much needed awareness to the rare disease community and to make rare disease a household name across the U.S.," she said.
